Antifriction Coatings
LIP Coating is a privately
owned German Company with wide experience in dry film coatings for the leather industry. This Knowledge has been used
as the basis for developing a new range of products for the automotive industry that can eliminate squeaks and
rattles on interior upholstery, trim and rubber seals. The majority of the products are water based and many are invisible when
applied in exposed areas. They are successful in a wide range of applications, involving leather and plastic
upholstery and also plastic trim areas, both hard and soft.
- What are Dry Film Lubricants?
Dry lubricants can be classified as either; -
- Inorganic compounds, Organic polymers or metal-complex compounds in a bonding film.
- Inorganic compounds
The most effective inorganic compounds are layer-lattice solids such as graphite, molybdenum disulphide, niobium disulphide, tungsten disulphide, calcium fluoride.

LIP Antifriction Coatings add quiet to quality
- LIP Antifriction Coatings
-
- Are solvent free wherever possible
- Are practically odourless
- Are extremely economical (Replacing felt strips or other aids!)
- Permanent
- Some can be used even in visible areas
- Where should one use which coating?
Where invisibility is important -
- LIP AC 610, AC 612
- Wherever felt strips are used
- foil, leather, vinyl and many other surfaces
- Where pressure and movement is high
-
- LIP AC 640
- Hard surfaces e.g. POM, ABS, PA
- Foil, vinyl, leather and most rubbers e.g. EPDM, TPU
- Where pressure with mechanical action and weathering are important
-
- LIP AC 644, AC 650
- Hard surfaces e.g. ABS-PC, POM
- Also foil, vinyl leather and most rubbers e.g. EPDM
- Where extreme flexibility, stretch and crush resistance are important
-
- LIP AC 602
